Qualifications

The curriculum at the San Francisco Studio School suggests that all students may not be accomplished in all areas of study. Photography students have often been separated from the related visual arts and painting students often lack a meaningful encounter with photography. In addition drawing may have been taught by rote, convention or not at all. For those reasons the procedure for applying to the school is a highly individual one. If a student is intrigued by the school's philosophy and program and is willing to commit to serious study, he or she is encouraged to inquire further or apply without undue concern over the completeness or appropriateness of his or her portfolio in all areas of the curriculum.
