The San Francisco Studio School is dedicated to the relevant, contemporary study of drawing, painting, photography, mixed media and critical studies. The curriculum combines the depth of experience of a residency in the arts with the intensity of a graduate program. The fundamentally visual nature of art is studied and engaged with the intent of providing students substance that will be reflected on as a defining moment in their art and their lives.

Patrons committed to the visual arts contribute to the limited-enrollment program to ensure low tuition for students. The uniquely cohesive structure of the program and the commitment to consistent work in the studio provides students a meaningful opportunity to develop and confirm their unique identity as artists.
