The San Francisco Studio School is dedicated to providing art students with a concentrated course of study in the fine arts of drawing, painting, photography and mixed media. The school combines the experience of a residency in the arts with the strengths of a graduate program. Each discipline is pursued in a unique and customizable structure to ensure meaningful study with an emphasis on the individual. The school recognizes an urgent need for an alternative to the high cost of degree-granting programs in the arts. The premise of the school is to provide serious fine art students a significant opportunity to develop and establish their identity as visual artists at a reasonable cost. We are committed to offering programs that are approximately one-quarter the cost of university art schools. The highly-regarded SFSS studio-based curriculum offers a substantial learning experience in a concentrated, stimulating and supportive atmosphere that rivals graduate programs.
