The artist mediates beauty to the world, whether that beauty takes the form of illumination of the senses through aesthetics, clarity of thought through conception, or the encapsulization of the horrible truth of catastrophic personal or societal events through transcription. Art, more than any other human endeavor transcends time visibly and links human to human and spirit to spirit over all history. Art cannot survive without those who evidence more than interest. To flourish, art must rely on those who actively participate in its making through its support.
