The Art of Mixed Media And Collage

This intensive, two-day hands-on workshop will explore mixed media and collage as vibrant visual metaphor. We will concentrate on personal approaches to improvisation and cohesion using a wide variety of materials in a spirit of focused creativity.
Form, color, and tactility provided by various wet and dry media will be investigated for their perceptual and emotional content. Papers, paints, pastels, fabric and other diverse resources will contribute evocative, multi-layered possibilities to each participant’s individual interests. Relevant techniques, supports and adhesives will be discussed and demonstrated, as will the effects of working in a series, involvements with scale, and the importance of process.
